Authoring DVDs/DivX

I download rare movies from the internet.

Often I have to convert these to DVD or the DivX format.

But when I do so, the included subtitles and/or audio
options are not available in the converted product.

Is there some software that will convert to DVD &/or DivX
AND keep the desired subtitles & audio selections.

"Nero8" and "DivX Author 1.5" do not have what I require.

Please help, PJ

Until someone who actully knows chimes in, I have an idea that might
work.

If you could find a way to export the subtitle files or subtitle data
from the downloaded files (i.e., demux the subtitles), perhaps your
existing software could import them while creating DVD files.

You might get better help if you mentioned the formats of the files you
download and the names of the programs you use.

Though he still hasn’t explained what “sublayers†are...

If it’s easy to use, why is it being mentioned in alt.video.dvd.tech?

Why should it not be mentioned here? Is it off-topic merely because
one doesn't need to be a geek to be able to use it?
